Which species are invading us and what dangers do they pose?

Human activity profoundly alters natural ecosystems and facilitates the introduction of species into habitats where they are not native. This is one of the key factors in species extinction, along with the climate crisis. Which species are invading us and what dangers do they pose? How do they affect the environment? Can they be stopped?

We will discuss this with Montserrat Vilà (ecologist and member of the Institute for Catalan Studies – IEC) and Xavier Turon (biologist, researcher at CEAB-CSIC, and also a member of the IEC). The discussion will be moderated by journalist Cristina Sáez, director of the ‘Science’ supplement at ARA.

Date: February 18 at 5:30 PM
Location: Institute for Catalan Studies (Carrer del Carme, 47, Barcelona)

Free entry for members, affiliated partners, IEC staff, and ARA Premium Club members.
