This October 1, the CEAB-CSIC researcher, Enric Ballesteros, has been named honorary member of catalan institute of natural history, in recognition for the work carried out in relation to the knowledge and conservation of nature.

This year this distinction was awarded to researcher Enric (Kike) Ballesteros.
Dr. Ballesteros is a marine biologist and has developed his career at the Centre d’Estudis Avançats de Blanes (CEAB-CSIC) where he continues to lead research projects related to the conservation of aquatic ecosystems. Internationally recognized, he has worked in seas and oceans around the world to understand ecosystems, see how human activities affect them and promote changes that allow them to be preserved.
The researcher is also widely known for his informative work and for being a member of the Pristine Seas team, of the National Geographic Society; a project that aims to protect the last virgin marine areas on the planet.
