DNA Laboratory (Clean DNA Lab)
The Clean DNA Lab is a pioneering scientific infrastructure focused on processing DNA samples from aquatic environments.
The lab has all the necessary equipment to apply clean techniques, thus preventing the transfer of DNA from the analyst to the sample, from the environment to the sample and cross-contamination between samples. The lab therefore provides the necessary guarantees for DNA and forensic DNA studies.
The Clean DNA Lab comprises a clean room with positive pressure separated into three spaces. The room is fitted with specific white room panelling and all the accessories to ensure airtightness, air filtration, pressure regulators, air conditioning and flow control systems. It also has a sterilisation system with ultraviolet light.
Current regulations define a clean room as a room in which the concentration of suspended particles in the air is specifically managed and which has been built and is used to minimise the entry, production and retention of particles, and in which other important parameters such as temperature, humidity and pressure are also properly managed.

Internal staff of the centre or persons provisionally assigned to it also have access to other research project facilities that require the use of molecular techniques, such as the Molecular Ecology and Genetics Laboratory.
