During the month of April, the science outreach talk series \u201cThe Codes of Life: Stories Around Genes<\/strong>\u201d <\/a>will take place in Matar\u00f3. This programme of lectures is devoted to exploring advances and applications in genetics in fields such as biodiversity research, evolutionary relationships and species conservation.<\/p>\n

The series includes nine talks covering a range of topics, from the major current challenges in genetics to the use of molecular techniques to better understand biological communities and evolutionary processes. Among the speakers are researchers from CEAB-CSIC, including Daniel Mart\u00edn, who will discuss how molecular tools have revolutionised taxonomy and our knowledge of biodiversity<\/a>, and Xavier Triad\u00f3, who will present a genomic and ecoinformatics approach to the study of microbial communities.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

This series provides an opportunity to bring cutting-edge genetic research closer to the general public and to encourage debate on the environmental and scientific challenges of the present and the future.
