This event <strong>brings together scientists, managers and local entities<\/strong> with the triple objective of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Disseminate the scientific knowledge<\/strong> obtained with the research carried out in the area<\/li>\n<li>Provide indications on how this knowledge can be <strong>applied in the management<\/strong> of natural spaces<\/li>\n<li>Promote collaboration between different sectors to <strong>conserve the ecosystems<\/strong> of the Pyrenees<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Conference will take place at the M\u00f3nNatura facilities, in Planes de Son (Pallars Sobir\u00e0). They will have more than 60 speakers, including a <strong>large representation from the CEAB-CSIC, specifically, from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ceab.csic.es\/el-ceab\/organitzacio-i-equip\/departaments-i-grups-dinvestigacio\/\">integrative inland water ecology group<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Researchers from the Center will make six <strong>presentations related to the research we carry out in the area<\/strong>, such as, for example, results of the <a href=\"https:\/\/liferesquealpyr.eu\/\"><strong>LIFE RESQUE ALPYR<\/strong> <\/a>(and the projects that preceded it), evidence obtained with the studies carried out in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ceab.csic.es\/es\/infraestructuras-singulares\/observatorio-limnologico-de-los-pirineos\/\"><strong>Limnological Observatory<\/strong> <\/a>or those related to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ceab.csic.es\/es\/proyectos-investigacion\/cambios-en-la-flora-dels-lagos-del-pirineo-floraqua\/\"><strong>study over the years of the aquatic flora of high mountain lakes<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The six <strong>presentations will be given on September 4, starting at 3 p.m. in the M\u00f3nNatura multipurpose room<\/strong>. It will be <strong>within the session dedicated to lakes, moderated by the CEAB-CSIC researcher N\u00faria Catal\u00e1n<\/strong>. The first will be that of <strong>Danilo Bu\u00f1ay, on primary production as the main determinant of transparency<\/strong> in lakes. <strong>N\u00faria Catal\u00e1n<\/strong> herself will follow with a presentation in which she will <strong>explain how the carbon cycle of the Pyrenean lakes is made known to students in the area<\/strong> and how they are involved in conservation. Next, <strong>Marc Ventura<\/strong>, coordinator of LIFE RESQUE ALPYR, <strong>will talk about the crustaceans on the coast of the ponds and the relationship that exists between them and the presence of fish<\/strong>. Afterwards, <strong>V\u00edctor Osorio<\/strong> will give a presentation related to the <strong>recovery of macroinvertebrates<\/strong> <strong>after the eradication of invasiv<\/strong>e fish. <strong>Esperan\u00e7a Gacia<\/strong> will share the knowledge obtained about the <strong>variations in the macrophyte composition of a Pyrenean pond after the introduction of the ver\u00f3n<\/strong>. Finally, <strong>Enric Baqu\u00e9 will talk about the changes in macrophyte communities over three decades<\/strong> with special reference to the ponds of the Alt Pirineu Natural Park.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/parcsnaturals.gencat.cat\/web\/.content\/Xarxa-de-parcs\/alt_pirineu\/novetats\/2024\/Programa-III_Jornades_Recerca-PNAP_2024.pdf\"><strong>program of the Conference<\/strong><\/a> includes a total of 76 participations (66, presentations. 10, in poster format) divided into 10 thematic sessions: landscape evolution, archaeology, geology, cultural legacy, ponds, monitoring networks\/nivology, socio-ecological systems, animal ecology and biodiversity, forest ecology and biodiversity, and rivers and peatlands.
