This initiative is aimed at both elementary schools (for 5th and 6th grade) and high schools (from 1st year of secondary education to high school diploma) across Spain.<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mosquitoalert.com\/ca\/\"><strong>Mosquito Alert, the citizen science platform<\/strong><\/a> that tracks invasive mosquito species that transmit diseases, has once again opened the call for teachers and educational centers interested in participating in its educational program.<\/p>\n<p>Those interested <strong>only need to <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSc3cpkR158DvDWtX0dLCfVO8dEHlN75KscyhBQMvRN-A0pzqg\/viewform\">fill this form (before the end of September)<\/a><\/strong>. By doing so, they commit to actively participating in the planned activities. The program is fully funded, so no financial contribution is required from the schools.<\/p>\n<p>The Mosquito Alert educational program consists of three formats depending on the age group of the students:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Elementary Education:<\/strong> 5th and 6th grade<\/li>\n<li><strong>Secondary Education:<\/strong> 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year of secondary education<\/li>\n<li><strong>Secondary Education:<\/strong> 4th year of secondary education and high school diploma<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In all formats, the project consists of an introduction phase, a learning phase, a development phase, and a conclusion phase. Each phase includes several sessions that are conducted at the school, following the Project-Based Learning and Learning by Doing approaches. At the beginning of the project, a teacher training course will be provided, where all the tools and instructions needed to carry out the project will be presented. Its goal is to study, monitor, and <strong>combat the spread of invasive mosquitoes capable of transmitting global diseases<\/strong> like dengue, Zika, or West Nile fever. The tiger mosquito and the yellow fever mosquito are some of the invasive species monitored by Mosquito Alert.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Mosquito Alert educational project was launched in 2017<\/strong>.
