{"id":20570,"date":"2026-10-20T10:43:17","date_gmt":"2026-10-20T08:43:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ceab.csic.es\/el-ceab-publica-la-seva-memoria-anual-2025-marcada-per-la-solidesa-cientifica-la-projeccio-internacional-i-la-connexio-entre-recerca-i-societat\/"},"modified":"2026-10-30T10:15:58","modified_gmt":"2026-10-30T09:15:58","slug":"ceab-publishes-its-annual-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ceab.csic.es\/en\/ceab-publishes-its-annual-report\/","title":{"rendered":"CEAB publishes its Annual Report, highlighting scientific excellence, international reach and engagement with society"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong>The Centre for Advanced Studies of Blanes (CEAB-CSIC) has published its <a href=\"https:\/\/saco.csic.es\/s\/wQfkoGM4zQELLzx\">2025 Annual Report<\/a>, presenting the results of a year characterised by the consolidation of its scientific activity, a strengthened international profile, a strong capacity to attract funding, and an extensive programme of knowledge transfer, communication and public engagement activities.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Throughout 2025, researchers affiliated with the centre published <strong>111 scientific papers<\/strong>, <strong>89% of which were published in open access<\/strong>, reinforcing CEAB&#8217;s commitment to the open dissemination of knowledge. Research carried out during the year also had a strong international dimension: <strong>76% of publications<\/strong> involved institutions from other countries, with scientific collaborations spanning <strong>more than 60 countries<\/strong> worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>The centre&#8217;s scientific activity was supported by <strong>114 active research projects and grants<\/strong>, amounting to <strong>\u20ac18.4 million in funding<\/strong>. Of this total, <strong>\u20ac17.1 million came from externally funded competitive projects<\/strong>, mainly awarded through European, national and international funding schemes.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of its human dimension, the centre employed <strong>153 professionals<\/strong> at the end of 2025, <strong>54% of whom were women<\/strong>. The workforce comprised research, technical, administrative and support staff, alongside a large community of early-career researchers. During 2025, CEAB hosted <strong>89 research stays and scientific visits<\/strong>, exceeding the figures recorded the previous year and further strengthening its international character.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The year was also significant from an institutional perspective. The centre received the <strong>ASPIRA-CSIC \u201cSagrario Mart\u00ednez Carrera\u201d distinction<\/strong>, which recognises institutes with the potential to achieve the highest standards of scientific excellence and provides dedicated funding to support strategic development actions. In parallel, the <strong>Department of Ecology and Complexity<\/strong> was formally established, and the role of the new <strong>External Scientific Advisory Committee<\/strong> was further strengthened.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The year was also marked by intense activity in knowledge transfer, science communication and public outreach, reinforcing the connection between research and society. CEAB organised <strong>27 public engagement and science culture activities<\/strong>, reaching an estimated audience of <strong>15,585 people<\/strong>, as well as <strong>102 educational activities<\/strong> involving <strong>5,786 students<\/strong> from 67 schools.
