On the occasion of Science Week, the Blanes Center for Advanced Studies has opened its facilities to the public. Scientific routes, discovery games and guided tours have been carried out.<\/h3>\n

300 students<\/strong> from Blanes, Lloret de Mar, Palafolls, Pineda and Malgrat de Mar have visited the CEAB-CSIC these November 15, 16 and 17. They have completed, organized in small groups, six scientific routes that allowed them to discover the entire process followed in research and participate in certain phases such as the preparation of field work or the analysis of samples in the laboratory.<\/p>\n

Members of the Center’s different research groups have introduced them to the study of marine biodiversity, the impacts of human activities on rivers, submerged forests, the protection that coastal vegetation provides against storms, the detection of invasive species through DNA and the conservation and restoration of high mountain ponds.<\/p>\n

\"<\/strong><\/h3>\n

On the afternoons of the 16th and 17th of this month, the CEAB was opened to the general public. 120 people<\/strong> have traveled to the Center’s headquarters to participate in the different activities: the clue game “Deciphering the ocean”, the “hidden biodiversity” workshop and guided tours of the laboratories and the rest of the spaces.<\/p>\n

Open days are held every year coinciding with Science Week. The objective is to publicize the research work carried out by research institutes, put research staff and the general public in direct contact and, ultimately, bring science closer to citizens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
