I am an ecologist interested in ecosystem restoration and conservation.
As part of my Ph.D. program, I am studying the history and process of the spread of minnows (Phoxinus sp.) an introduced fish species in the high mountain lakes of the Pyrenees. I am also studying the morphological and genetic differences of the different lake-populations.
Based on morphological differences and genetic approaches, I track the influx of exotic species and assess the morphological and genetic differences by the environment.
It aims to understand what factors have been responsible for its present morphological variability within the Pyrenees, and to distinguish between pure phenotypic variability, founder effects and local adaptation.
