I graduated in Biology from the University of Girona (UdG) and continued my studies with a Master’s degree in Advanced Microbiology (University of Barcelona) and in Bioinformatics and Omics Sciences (University of Vic).

During my academic career, I carried out research stays at the Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM) and at the Università degli Studi di Parma (UNIPR), where I worked on the study of endosymbiotic microorganisms and heavy metal–tolerant algae.

After a professional stage in the pharmaceutical industry in microbiological quality control, I decided to pursue a research career and begin a PhD in computational ecology.

At CEAB, I investigate the genetic and omics factors that enable bacteria to tolerate water stress and, through machine learning, develop tools that may help address the effects of drought on agriculture and terrestrial ecosystems.

Current research projects: MicroDroughtPredict: Predicting bacterial adaptation to drought using genomics and machine learning.
