The event will be held on September 27th, starting at 7 pm, at the headquarters of the Centre for Advanced Studies, in the municipality of Blanes. This year the evening will focus on the study of freshwater ecosystems. It will include a guided tour of an exhibition and conversations with the Centre’s researchers.
Within the framework of the European Research Night – which encourages the organisation of activities that put citizens and research staff in direct contact, in a pleasant context – we are organising the “CEAB Night”.
This is an evening on the terrace of the CEAB headquarters (in Blanes, Girona), in which, starting from an initial content, the conversation between the scientists and the attending public is promoted. All of this is enlivened with food and music.
The event is open to everyone who wants to attend, and free of charge. However, due to limited capacity, it is necessary to register in advance, by filling out this form.
This year, the CEAB Night will revolve around the research being carried out in continental water ecosystems (such as rivers, wetlands, ponds…), the evidence obtained so far with the research carried out by the Center, the main challenges facing these natural spaces and how we can contribute to their preservation.
First, you can enjoy a guided tour of the interactive exhibition “Augmented Ecofeminisms: Climate, Water, Women,” which focuses on the impacts on people, especially girls and women, of the poor management of freshwater ecosystems that has been and continues to be carried out too often.
The exhibition will be the starting point for raising questions, debates and, ultimately, opening informal conversations between the audience and the researchers from the Centre for Advanced Studies who work on continental water ecosystems.
This is the second consecutive year that this format of activity has been chosen. In 2023, the evening was dedicated to seas and oceans, the scientific knowledge we have today and the actions, based on science, necessary and urgent to protect them.
