I have a degree in Biology, specializing in Organisms and Systems, from the University of Girona. My research background has been linked to the study of sponges from various perspectives, such as chemical ecology, the effects of pollution, and population genetics.
Currently, I coordinate the Scientific Outreach and Education Area at the center, organizing activities (exhibitions, conferences, workshops, etc.) to promote scientific culture and raise awareness of the research being conducted at CEAB in society. I also work to bring research closer to the educational world. Among other things, I coordinate and participate in the training of the ‘La Vida a l’Aigua’ project within the Escoles Tàndem program, driven by the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation. This is an educational innovation project being carried out at the Mossèn Joan Batlle School in Blanes, which facilitates the transformation of the school through science. For the past couple of years, I have also collaborated in Plastic 0, a citizen science project aimed at assessing the accumulation and types of microplastics present on beaches, which is included in the ‘Observadors del Mar’ web platform.
