She holds a degree in Marine Sciences from the University of Vigo (2007). She completed her PhD at the University of Alicante, titled: “Factors driving herbivores’ preferences and consumption rates across different macrophyte ecosystems” (2015). She has collaborated and completed several research stays at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab (Alabama, USA) with Kenneth Heck and Just Cebrián. Currently, she works at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Blanes (CEAB) with Teresa Alcoverro Pedrola.

Her research lines are related to interactions in aquatic macrophyte ecosystems, marine ecology, herbivory, anthropogenic impacts on seagrass meadows in the Mediterranean (Posidonia oceanica, Cymodocea nodosa) and the Gulf of Mexico (Thalassia testudinum, Halodule wrightii, and other species), tropicalization, blue carbon, paleoecology, and climate change.

PROJECTS

The project, with an explicitly interdisciplinary vocation, seeks, first of all, to document the role of storms as agents of change for Mediterranean coastal vegetation, both emerged and submerged (underwater meadows, marsh vegetation and dunes).
