Environmental scientist since 2018, I am currently in the final year of my PhD. In my thesis, I study the relationships between the carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) cycles in Mediterranean headwater streams and how these are mediated by microbial communities. In particular, I empirically analyze how nutrient availability, the stoichiometry between C and N, the composition of organic matter, and the composition, function, and activity of bacterial communities influence nitrogen processing within the river.
