Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the Faculty of Natural, Physical, and Chemical Sciences at the “Università degli Studi di Cagliari” (1991); Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, specializing in Zoology, from the Faculty of Biology, Division of Experimental and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Barcelona (1996). In 1997, I earned a PhD in Marine Sciences from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC).
My area of interest is related to three years of experience in Italy, where I directed a marine reserve, focusing on activities related to species conservation, habitat and ecosystem protection, and promoting sustainable fishery management.
My professional experience at the CEAB has primarily focused on the study of macrofaunal communities in rocky seabeds, with key tasks including:
- Separation of samples into large groups and taxonomic classification at the species level for polychaetes, crustaceans, and mollusks from soft-bottom habitats, using dichotomous keys.
- Physicochemical analysis of marine sediment.
- Data processing and analysis.
- Preparation of reports.
- Support for experimentation at the LEOV (Laboratory of Experimentation with Living Organisms) during my role as the technical manager of the laboratory.
