PhD in Biology from the University of Barcelona in 1998. I am part of the Department of Marine Ecology, where I have participated in several projects focused on the study of marine ecosystems with rocky and sedimentary substrates. I have studied their dynamics and structure, as well as habitat characterization. I specialize in the biology, ecology, and taxonomy of some groups of benthic macroinvertebrates (polychaetes and bivalves) and marine macroalgae. I have also studied the response of these organisms to environmental changes (mainly anthropogenic changes) and their use as tools to assess the ecological status of marine and transitional waters, which I have been working on in recent years.
I am also part of the CEAB group dedicated to the implementation of the Water Framework and Habitat Directives.
Currently, I am the Scientific Manager of the Sample Separation and Identification Laboratory.
