I have worked on the biology, ecology, and taxonomy of marine macroalgae and on the representation and modeling of spatial data from various sources using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). I have actively participated in the development of the CARLIT index, both in terms of the intercalibration process of methodologies at the European level and within the implementation process of the Water Framework Directive in Catalonia, as a co-author. I have also collaborated in the implementation of the WFD and the application of CARLIT in other locations in the Mediterranean (Balearic Islands, France, and Italy) and the Black Sea (Bulgaria).
I am currently continuing to collaborate on various projects related to the WFD, both with macroalgae and macrofauna as indicators, in controlling invasive species and in the status of vulnerable and endangered species along the Catalan coast, as well as in studies of vegetation in high mountain lakes.
