Spain’s EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Conference is one of the country’s main events for R&I stakeholders working on European projects. This year’s edition will include the participation of the research project E4Warning, coordinated by CEAB-CSIC, which has been selected to take part in the scientific poster exhibition featuring projects funded by Horizon Europe and coordinated by Spanish organisations.

Organised by CDTI Innovación, in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, the European Commission and ACCIÓ, this year’s Conference is being held under the slogan “Between Two Programmes, Horizon Europe”. The title captures the current moment: on the one hand, the European Horizon Europe programme is entering its final phase, with the last calls still open; on the other, the foundations are already being laid for the future EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, expected from 2028 onwards.

The importance of the Conference goes beyond the presentation of results or the exchange of experiences. It is a strategic forum designed to help universities, research centres, companies, public administrations and other organisations within the innovation ecosystem improve their participation in European calls, strengthen their international positioning and prepare for the changes that will shape the next cycle of European funding. The event provides access to up-to-date information, specialised advice and opportunities to build partnerships.

Among other activities, the event offers the opportunity to hold advisory meetings with Horizon Europe experts, as well as bilateral meetings with other participants, with the aim of fostering new collaborations for future European calls. The full Conference programme is available here.

In this context, the selection of “Eco-Epidemiological Intelligence for early Warning and response to mosquito-borne disease risk in Endemic and Emergence settings” (E4Warning) gives visibility to research coordinated by CEAB-CSIC in a key sector forum. The project is a research and innovation action funded by Horizon Europe under Cluster 6, which focuses on food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture and the environment.
