La meva recerca se centra en l’estudi de l’estructura i la funció dels ecosistemes fluvials subjectes a diferents graus de pertorbació antròpica per tal d’entendre com aquestes activitats impacten sobre la qualitat de l’aigua i la salut ecosistema. El meu objectiu últim és trobar solucions que permetin un ús sostenible dels recursos i serveis ecosistèmics que els rius ens ofereixen. Per això combino teories i mètodes d’ecologia, biogeoquímica i ecotoxicologia.
